Oh, Rats! Monitoring Amsterdam’s Rat Population

Spreker: Caitlin black (IBED)| Engels | 13:30-14:15 | C1.110 Regulating rodent pest populations is ultimately a human behavior issue, not something that can be remedied with control efforts alone. Although rats are a well-known pest in Amsterdam, little is known about the size of their population and where their population is growing. In collaboration with the larger ARISE project (https://www.arise-biodiversity.nl/), we are developing a long-term monitoring program to develop non-invasive and scalable monitoring techniques to understand the city’s rat population dynamics and behavior.
